Last week, we discussed four blog post topics for civil attorneys. Now, we turn to the criminal law side.

#1: Basic Criminal Law FAQs

The best content is in your clients’ minds and reflected in their questions. Collect the most prominent FAQs from your clients - from the basics of handling a speeding ticket to a Q&A about what to do if you are pulled over - and turn them into short articles for your blog, white papers, or free downloads for your website.

#2: Top Ten Lists

A quick and helpful blog post is a top-ten list on a variety of different topics. They are also easy to share and promote on social media, and can be easily built out and made into e-books or white papers. Some examples are, the top ten things to do when you are arrested, and the top ten things to remember if you want to press criminal charges.

Famous Case Reprisal

Walk back through famous cases and discuss how the result would have been different in your jurisdiction given variations in the law. You can choose a seminal case like Arizona v Gant, an infamous case like the O.J. Simpson trial, or a recent case out of the appellate courts in your jurisdiction. These make fun and engaging posts that also showcase your command of the law.

Legal News Roundups

Keep a running tab of news that is relevant to your client base, both locally and nationally. These posts are easy to whip up, and also very informative. Make sure you commit to consistency, running a monthly or weekly column.
